The phone starts ringing, you pick it up and it’s a potential guest.

Using the phone may not be your forte but as a host, it’s one of the first introductions a guest will have with your venue. But, using the phone is restrictive. You can’t see who you are talking to, you can’t gauge their reactions and body language is completely ruled out.

When it comes to using the phone, listening attentively is key. Your guest will be calling for a reason so make sure you find out what that is quickly. Ask questions, be polite and don’t forget to say ‘hello’ and ‘goodbye’.
