Julian Darisse is a luxury hotel operations expert with more than 20 years' experience in a variety of hospitality operations in global markets. He is also a Managing Partner of The Skill Shop, where he offers consulting, live training, and digital learning for hospitality with a specialty focus in sales and operations.

Julian began his career as a bellman in Ottawa, Canada. Since then, he has dedicated his career to developing better strategies for hotel operations and service around the world. He has worked with numerous high-profile guests and heads of state as well as guided hotel teams through natural disasters, hotel pre-opening, major renovation projects, and global special events including the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and six Toronto International Film Festivals from 2012 to 2018. Most recently, Julian was appointed the Assistant Vice President - Family Experience for Shangri-La Group.

Throughout his career, Julian's focus has remained on learning, development and creating better strategies that enhance the guest journey and deliver exceptional value. He strongly believes that knowledge sharing is vital to the health of the hospitality industry, and remains committed to finding new pathways to achieving operational and service excellence in the global hotel industry.
