Karen Coetzee is the current Regional Director of Spa for Rixos Hotels in Egypt. With a career spanning over 22 years, Karen's journey began at the age of 18 when she embarked on a career as a Spa Therapist onboard Mandara Spa and Steiner Cruiseliners after completing her Cosmetology Diploma in South Africa in 2001.
For the past 12 years, Karen has been making waves in the Dubai luxury spa scene. Her roles have included Spa Manager at Talise Spa Madinat Jumeirah, Cluster Director of Spa for The Address Spas under Emaar Hospitality, and Director of Spa at Cinq Mondes Spa in Raffles The Palm Dubai. Her relentless dedication, passion, and clear vision have propelled her to her current position as the Regional Director of Spa for Rixos Egypt.
Karen's achievements speak volumes about her commitment to excellence. She has been recognized with prestigious awards such as Best Spa Manager in the Middle East Continent and the United Arab Emirates at the World Luxury Spa Awards and Haute Grandeur in 2016 and 2017. In 2023, she recevied the GCC Spa Leader of the Year Award, a testament to her outstanding contributions to the industry.
Not only has Karen achieved personal success, but she has also played a pivotal role in garnering accolades for the spas she managed. Her contributions led to awards including Best Spa Suites at Address Downtown in 2019, Best Resort Spa in GCC for Raffles The Palm in 2022, and Best Resort Spa in Dubai for Raffles The Palm in 2023. Additionally, she played a key role in Rixos Seagate winning the World Spa Awards Egypt for Best Wellness Retreat in 2023.
