Angela Maher is a lifelong educator with a passion for developing future leaders for the hospitality industry. She is Co-Founder and Director of FLIGHT (Future Leaders in Global Hospitality & Tourism), a not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to create a global conversation about how best to support and develop next generation hospitality leaders.

Prior to FLIGHT, Angela taught for over 25 years at The Oxford School of Hospitality Management at Oxford Brookes University, a school consistently ranked among the best in the world for hospitality management education. As Head of School and Undergraduate Programme Director, Angela was responsible for a cohort of 500 future leaders in the hospitality sector.

Angela is a strong believer in the power of mentoring for developing future leaders. During her time at Oxford Brookes, she co-founded the Bacchus Mentoring Programme, an innovative mentoring scheme that matches final year students with senior hospitality executives. One of Angela’s proudest achievements was in 2016 when both Oxford Brookes University and the Bacchus Mentoring Programme were shortlisted at the Worldwide Hospitality Awards in Paris.

Angela has dedicated her career to bringing together educators and employers, ensuring that aspiring hospitality leaders have access to the very best education and training so they can maximize success and find happiness at work.
