Shandee Chernow is President and founder of CertiStar™, a user-friendly technology platform on a mission to protect and improve the safety and dining experience of men, women, and children vulnerable to food allergens. As a food allergy sufferer herself, Shandee quickly noticed a problem in the marketplace that wasn’t being solved well or being addressed properly by the industry.

Prior to founding CertiStar™, Shandee studied Computer Science and Mathematics at Vanderbilt University where she graduated with honors. After her studies, she joined MicroStrategy, a worldwide leader in enterprise analytics and mobility software. Shandee's exceptional work and goal-smashing ethic while working in sales, both on the technical and account management sides, saw her being awarded the President’s Club status for eight consecutive years.

After 16 years with MicroStrategy, Shandee went on to work for Hortonworks and Tableau Software. With both of these companies, Shandee helped to build out their Desert region territories. Then, in 2017, she founded CertiStar™ which has helped to revolutionize the culinary landscape. With food allergies and intolerances on the rise, and as they become more widely recognized, there is a growing need for restaurants and food service staff to understand their customer's needs, reduce their liabilities and use the technology available to serve up safety with menu innovation.

CertiStar™'s smart technology, MenuStar™, offers food industry and food allergy data that has been matched with patent-pending smart technology to help hospitality businesses manage menus, recipes, and inventory. CertiStar™ is helping the hospitality industry become more inclusive with every dish served.
