Founder of Healthy Pour

Founder of Healthy Pour and mental health advocate, Laura Green promotes health and wellbeing in the hospitality industry. Laura is passionate about helping others, especially those who work in a fast-paced environment with long shifts such as in hospitality.

In 2017, Laura Green graduated with a Master’s Degree in Education focusing on Clinical Mental Health Counseling, from DePaul University. She studied subjects such as multiculturalism, feminist theory, sexuality, social psychology, group therapy, trauma, ethics, and career counseling. Laura completed a 700 hour clinical internship at the Community Counseling Centers in Chicago.

With more than 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, working in bars and restaurants, Laura initially thought that her Masters Degree would lead her away from hospitality. However, it became clear that the industry needed a way to overcome challenges such as mental health issues, substance use, sexism, and racism, which continue to be prevalent in hospitality.

In 2018, Laura received a grant from the Educational Committee for Tales of the Cocktail’s Beyond the Bar track to fund her research in stress, burnout, and substance use in the food and beverage industry.

No matter your job role in the hospitality industry, Laura has the knowledge and experience to teach you why mental and physical health is crucial, and should not be negatively affected by the industry you work in.
