Director of Organizational Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Temple University School of Tourism and Hospitality Management (STHM)

Dr. Debra Blair earned her Ed.D. in Health Education at Temple University. She joined the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management as an Assistant Professor in 2003, where she teaches courses which focus on diversity, ethics, disability awareness, and sport and recreation management at the undergraduate level.

During her career, Dr. Blair has worked on several research grant projects and has managed two federally funded grants designed to foster development of inclusive sport and recreation programs for inner-city youth and adults with disabilities. In addition, her doctoral dissertation, Multicultural Competency and Multicultural Conflicts Encountered by Entry Level Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, provided benchmark data for the industry.

Dr. Blair currently serves on Temple University’s General Education Executive Committee as the area coordinator for race and diversity, arts, and human development courses. She also serves on the University Faculty Concerns on Disabilities committee. With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Blair is an industry leader in the development of inclusive practices, presenting on this subject to audiences at the local, regional, and national level.
