Phil Brewer
Specialist Advisor - Human Trafficking, Human Trafficking Foundation
Phil Brewer is a specialist advisor on modern slavery for an organization called the Human Trafficking Foundation. Phil's 30-year career in law enforcement has given him a strong passion for the anti-trafficking sector, and he now dedicates his expert knowledge to helping charities and non-government organizations develop programs that offer protection and resources for victims.
Phil's journey began as an officer for the London Metropolitan Police, where he worked for several years before his role was restructured into the anti-trafficking specialist team. In that role he learned more about the complex dynamics behind human trafficking, and felt compelled to help high-risk communities and give victims the chance to live a safer life. Most recently, Phil led the Modern Slavery and Kidnap Unit, heading up a team of over 100 officers.
Phil is passionate about educating hospitality staff on how businesses can make a positive contribution to combating human trafficking. He hopes that by sharing his knowledge and experience, staff can feel empowered to identify and prevent human trafficking activity within their workplace.
