Counter-terrorism and violent extremism expert

Todd McGhee is an international speaker on counter-terrorism and violent extremism. He is also the author and course developer of the Behavior Observation Skills (BOS) Course and the Airport Physical Screening (APS) Course written for the United States Department of State, Office of Antiterrorism Assistance. Both courses are currently being delivered around the world to US Partner Nations to help combat against global terrorism.

Todd started his law enforcement career in 1987 and retired from the Massachusetts Department of State Police after serving twenty four successful years in public safety. He was assigned to the Massachusetts State Police Troop F Headquarters at Logan International Airports Massport Authority as a specially trained officer and lead trainer of their Anti-Terrorism Unit.

Todd now offers international consulting on counter-terrorism and is a member of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), where he is a board member of the Global Security Committee providing security best practices for the Attractions and Theme Park industry.

Todd has made several appearances on WHDH Ch 7 News, ABC News, NECN News, NBC Boston and Fox 25 News as a subject matter expert and contributor providing commentary and analysis on international and domestic terrorist related case studies, active shooter, school safety, cyber-crime, and police use of force issues. He has been featured in Time Magazine as a member of Logan Airport Homeland Security detail where he has served as one the lead trainers of the State Police Anti-Terrorism Unit. In acknowledgement of his pioneering work, he has also been featured on ABC Nightline in a segment titled “Deceit Detectives,” which demonstrated Logan Airport as the safest airport in the United States.
