Cameron McKenzie is one of the co-founders and distillers at Four Pillars Gin in Victoria. His business partners, Stuart Gregor and Matt Jones together have formed what is now one of the few craft gin distilleries emerging in Australia.
Inspired by the rise of boutique distilleries in North America and Europe, the trio saw an opportunity to take on an unfilled gap in the Australian craft spirits market. With tonnes of passion and years of wine experience between them, they now have a selection of quality handcrafted gin products (along with the occasional limited-edition bottle).
Gaining global recognition, Four Pillars was awarded Double Gold status (2014 & 2016, San Francisco World Spirits Competition), Gold in the UK's Global Gin Masters (2016), and Double Gold in the New York World Wine & Spirits Competition in 2017.
Their success is built and driven on four pillars: quality stills, clean water sourced from the Yarra Valley, distinct botanicals and love. While these are their main anchors, it’s also strong work ethic, innovation and a constant hunger for learning that has paved their success—characteristics that Cameron believes any aspiring distiller or career-driven individual should have.
