Joanne McKerchar is the Senior Archivist at Diageo, the global leader in alcoholic beverages. Diageo represents some of the best-selling brands on the market, including Smirnoff, Bailey’s, Johnnie Walker and Guinness.
The Diageo Archives in Scotland were established twenty years ago to bring together the histories of Diageo’s many brands. As the Senior Archivist, Joanne is responsible for the gins and malts in the Diageo collection, working with records that date back as early as the 1700s!
Joanne holds a Masters in Archives and Record Management and has been working with Diageo since 2005.
She enjoys the unlikely fast-paced nature of the work, which includes providing access to historical recipes, internal education, taking part in media events and the creation of new designs for Diageo products.
