Lesson details

Pauline Nguyen is the owner of Red Lantern, which is the most awarded Vietnamese restaurant in the world.

From an early age, Pauline learnt the value of grit and determination. Her family fled Vietnam as boat people, and spent a year in a Thai refugee camp before settling in Australia in the 1970s. Almost immediately after their arrival, Pauline’s father put the family to work in his numerous businesses, giving Pauline her first (but not last) taste for entrepreneurship.

Red Lantern has thrived in the Sydney restaurant industry for fifteen years now, placing it in the top 4% of businesses in the world that have lasted for more than ten years.

In this mentor session, Pauline talks about being resilient and persevering in the restaurant industry, even when you face challenges.
